Christine Bryant
Christine Bryant, longtime resident of Terrell, passed away into the presence of her Lord and Savior on the evening of October 30, 2021. Christine was born on March 23, 1926 to Claude Albert and Katie Frances (Bain) Baker, both of whom met her in Heaven along with her beloved husband, James Bryant; brothers: Bain, Jimmy and Kirby Baker and sisters, Sallie Bennett and Helen Hightower. As the hymn says, “What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see!” and we take comfort that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother is also reunited with her family and friends again!
Christine had lived in the community since 1941 and on Aug. 6, 1950, she married James Bryant, the love of her life and her best friend. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising their children with a firm foundation in love and faith. They were members of Grace Temple Baptist church until it’s closing after which they moved to become active and longtime members of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Christine also worked outside the home with JC Penney in downtown Terrell and then for Westab School Paper Co. where her kind personality and helpful nature made her an invaluable asset to the companies and her coworkers. In her spare time, she loved to be able to spend time with family while baking, solving and putting together puzzles, visiting her neighbors and making every day special for those she loved. A loving, caring, gracious lady with a great sense of humor, Christine will be missed greatly but never forgotten by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Bacon and husband, Phil, of Terrell; son, Allen Bryant and wife, Roseann of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren: Wyndi James and husband Michael, Jenny Haney and husband Michael, Kerri Bacon, Melissa Pedi go and husband, Zach, Pamela Bryant and fiancé, Douglas Scott Turner; great grandchildren: Zachary and Selana Haney, Landon Haney, Morgan and Cody James, Brooklynne Bryant, Jackson and Henry Pedigo and Olivia Turner as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, extended family, church family and a host of friends.
