The Terrell Lady Tigers continued to chase their first district win of the season last week, crossing paths with talented opponents from Corsicana and Forney in District 14-5A play. Terrell first hit the field Corsicana squad also represented by the Lady Tiger mascot.

editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell Tiger track and field program had its hands full last week, making the trek to Lancaster High School April 12-13 to square off against a number of familiar foes at this year’s District 14-5A Track and Field Meet.

The Terrell Lady Tigers continued their match through district play last week, looking to put together competitive efforts against solid teams from Red Oak and Ennis. Terrell opened play at home, falling behind early and never recovering in a 23-2 setback to Red Oak.

Anglers from across the area will gather on Lake Fork April 22, testing themselves and each other at the 6th annual Jake Wilson Memorial One-Day Open Bass Team Tournament. Organizers behind the effort explained the origin of the tournament stating, “The Jake Wilson Memorial Bass Tournament was organized to celebrate the life and legacy of Jake Charles Wilson.

The Terrell Tigers saw their postseason hopes take a hit last week, dropping a pair of matchups in District 14-5A play. The Tigers began their week on the road, clashing with the Crandall Pirates for the second time this season.

The Terrell track and field continued its spring campaign last week, making their way to Alfred J. Loos Stadium in Addison to compete at the WT White Invitational April 1.

The Terrell track and field program made its way to Lion’s Memorial Stadium in Ennis March 24, competing against athletes from Fairfield, Forney, Wilmer-Hutchins, Corsicana, Ennis, Harmony Excellence, Dallas Madison, Palestine and Crandall at the annual Bluebonnet Relays.

The Terrell Tigers entered last week’s games against Lancaster at a low point, having dropped five consecutive games overall as they watched their overall record dip to 2-12-1. Terrell would show plenty of grit and rebound in impressive fashion from their slow start, easily playing two of their best games of the season to dismiss Lancaster by a combined score of 18-3.

That trend would continue against the Lady Tigers March 24 as Forney scored early and often on their way to a 20-0 shutout win.
