The TAAF Region 7 Regional Meet was held at Midlothian Heritage High School, July 10-11, and the North Texas Longhorns of Terrell had a very successful outing this year. The Longhorns registered 135 young athletes this year and 48 of those athletes advanced to the TAAF Games of Texas in College Station.
This past week, Cedar Creek guide Chris Webb, Jeff Rice and I met at the boat ramp just as the sun was beginning to light up the eastern sky. Our goal was to film a segment of our weekly TV show, “A Sportsmans Life” and glean information on catching summer crappie to share with you here. Our plan was to get in on a very dependable early morning bite and then get off the water before the Texas sun got too high overhead, and this we did. Let me tell you all about how we boated a cooler full of nice size crappie that were on a dependable bite that Chris expects to hold throughout the summer.
Terrell Tigers Head Football Coach Marvin Sedberry, Jr. was named the 2025-26 Regional Coach of the Year for Region 3, 5A by the Texas High School Coaches Association. The Tigers went 12-1 during the 2025 season and 7-0 in district play to finish as District champions. Terrell went on to defeat both Seagoville and Huntsville to finish as Bi-district and Area champions before falling to the eventual State champion South Oak Cliff Bears.
Six Terrell Tigers athletes put pen to paper on April 23 for National Signing Day. Kenneth Allen, Jr., Kaleb Bellmore, Elijah Weber, Amarin Miles, Carson Baskin and Brian White, Jr. all signed to play sports collegiately for Terrell.

Three Terrell High School track athletes are moving on to the Regional meet after their performances at the Area meet. Kalex Baxter set a personal record and a Terrell High School record as she advanced in the shot put and discus.
