editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell Lady Tigers got their 2024 season off on the right foot with a victory Tuesday, Aug. 13 in their home opener.

The Terrell Lady Tigers volleyball squad began their first days of practice for the 2024 season Monday, Aug. 5 at Terrell High School. The Lady Tigers begin their scrimmage schedule at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10 against Bowie High School at the ExCEL Center.

editor@terrelltribune.com The North Texas Longhorns of Terrell track team recently competed at the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation State Games of Texas in Brownsville July 25-28. The Longhorns had multiple individuals and teams that came home with gold medals.

The North Texas Longhorns Summer Track Club of Terrell completed the TAAF Region 7 Regional Meet this past weekend in Princeton. “Out of the 80 athletes that registered, we will be taking 47 young athletes to the TAAF Games of Texas in Brownsville July 25-28,” said Head Coach Keith Willis.

The Terrell Youth Athletes Association will be hosting a 7-on-7 football tournament June 29 at Ben Gill Park. Visitors and residents can come out and meet the youth athlete coaches and staff.

editor@terrelltribune.com The Texas 7ers’ season came to an end in the Central Conference Finals after being swept by the Potawatomi Fire in their best-ofthree series. The Fire’s explosive offense was on full display for Game 1 and 2 as they put up a combined 285 points in their sweep of the 7ers.
