Anglers from across the area will gather on Lake Fork April 22, testing themselves and each other at the 6th annual Jake Wilson Memorial One-Day Open Bass Team Tournament. Organizers behind the effort explained the origin of the tournament stating, “The Jake Wilson Memorial Bass Tournament was organized to celebrate the life and legacy of Jake Charles Wilson.

Track teams compete at Bluebonnet Relays

The Terrell track and field program made its way to Lion’s Memorial Stadium in Ennis March 24, competing against athletes from Fairfield, Forney, Wilmer-Hutchins, Corsicana, Ennis, Harmony Excellence, Dallas Madison, Palestine and Crandall at the annual Bluebonnet Relays.

Tigers sweep past Lancaster in district

The Terrell Tigers entered last week’s games against Lancaster at a low point, having dropped five consecutive games overall as they watched their overall record dip to 2-12-1. Terrell would show plenty of grit and rebound in impressive fashion from their slow start, easily playing two of their best games of the season to dismiss Lancaster by a combined score of 18-3.

That trend would continue against the Lady Tigers March 24 as Forney scored early and often on their way to a 20-0 shutout win.

The Terrell Lady Tigers hit the road March 22, traveling to Corsicana to battle a program in a District 14-5A showdown. the difference in the contest as Corsicana plated two in the fourth and seven in the fifth to earn a 10-0 win over Terrell.

Track teams finish fourth at Crandall Invitational

The Terrell track and field program stayed busy ahead of the district’s spring break week, traveling to Pirate Stadium in Crandall March 10 to compete in the annual Crandall Invitational. Terrell finished fourth overall in the varsity boys division with 101 points, behind Forney with 157, Corsicana with 135 and Crandall with 101.

Powerlifters compete at Regional Meet

editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell Tiger powerlifting program capped another successful season last week, traveling to Tyler Legacy lifters from 35 other schools at the Region 3 Division I Meet. Terrell more than held its own, finishing 18th overall in the crowded field with three total points.

Soccer teams wrap up 2023 season

The Terrell Lady Tiger and Tiger soccer programs took to the field one final time this season March 10, wrapping up a grueling campaign that included its share of talented opponents. Terrell would go on to split the two varsity contests as the Lady Tigers scored a 2-1 win over Ennis while the boys came up short against the Lions by a 3-1 score.
