The Kiwanis Club of Terrell took a trip out to visit Jake E’s Riding Round UP this week for the weekly meeting May 24. After having lunch at the ranch and hearing all about the therapeutic horseback riding and healing center located at 10626 FM 429 south, the Kiwanis were given a tour of the facility by the director, Jana. The Terrell Tigerettes will host their annual spring show at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center beginning at 7 p.m. April 21-22.

Robert LaRue will reach a milestone few can dream of Feb. 19, celebrating his 106th birthday. A Colonial Lodge since 2017, LaRue was honored in November 2021 by the city of Oak Ridge with a park named in his honor.

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1191 held its monthly lunch meeting Jan. 11 at the Asian King Buffet in Waxahachie. The guest speaker was Wedding Guy Rob, Rob Nelson, of Waxahachie, and son of NARFE chapter member, Ralph Nelson, who spoke about his career as a professional wedding officiant.

The No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum is creating a new activity – the Second Saturday Veterans’ Breakfast which will begin Feb.
