These members of Terrell’s North Texas Longhorns track club are among those who have medaled at recent AAU-sanctioned track meets in Dallas, Desoto, Lancaster and Fort Worth. Softball team turns in fine season

The Terrell Tigers varsity softball team was recognized for their outstanding play this season. The Tigers assembled a 17-4 season record and advanced to the UIL playoffs. They lost in the first round to Mabank. The team’s roster includes Miranda Serrato, Kara Cookston, Dallas McKinney, Krystian Cox, Lisandra Ibarra, Emma Coltharp, Peighton Pederson, Libby Chapman, Emma Rice, Brooklyn Vigil-Yeager, Saisha Carpenter, Adia Vigil-Yeager and Courtney Harrell, who was named Terrell Player of the Year. Tigers soccer teams recognized by school board

The Terrell ISD school board Monday night recognized the achievements of the Terrell High School boys and girls varsity soccer teams. The Lady Tigers finished the season 12-8-4 with another post-season appearance. The girls also finished second in district with a 10-3-1 record. Girls individual award winners include Defensive Mid of the Year: Shelbie Stephens; Newcomer of the Year, Stephanie Hernandez; and District MVP, Jocelyne Mendoza. Girls First Team All-District includes Jocelyne Mendoza, Shelbie Stephens, Stephanie Hernandez, Jesseyla Vargas, Abigail Aguilar, Mariah Ventura, and Karla Landa. Second Team-All District includes Leslie Romero, Karina Lugo, Aaliyah Haslip and Princess Saballero. Honorable Mention includes Paola Herrera and Evelyn Ramirez. The Tigers boys team, which was ranked among the best teams in the state, finished the year 24-3 overall and captured the district crown with a 13-1 record. They made a nice playoff run before stumbling in the regional play. Boys individual awards include Newcomer of the Year, Jason Ramirez; Utility Player of the Year, Nathan Bautista; District MVP, Bryan Riojas; and Offensive Player of the Year, Crispen Muambila. First Team All-District includes Bryan Riojas, Nathan Bautista, Crispen Maumbila, Jason Ramirez, Alli Primero, Oscar Saucedo, Brian McCubbins, Omar Trejo and Gren Animas. Second Team All-District includes Andrew Navarrette, Gary San Miguel, Michael Torres, Lois Vargas and Edgard Salaz. Honorable Mention includes Brantony Campos and Nahum Hurtado.
