Koif inducted into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Emily Koif of Terrell was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Koif was initiated at Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Police raid yields arrests, suspected narcotics

Seven people were arrested or detained and suspected narcotics were seized after a police raid in Terrell the afternoon of April 15, according to the Terrell Police Department. A Terrell police SWAT team accompanied by narcotic investigators executed a search warrant at 1325 CR 319 in Terrell, according to police.

Atmos crews working on gas distribution lines

You may be seeing an inordinate amount of Atmos Energy trucks in Terrell over the past few weeks. Contractors and crews for Atmos, the city’s natural gas provider, are making repairs to the company’s natural gas distribution system in Terrell, according to Eva Hummel, manager of public affairs for Atmos Energy.

Taking ‘Aspen’ to the show

Josh Waymire of Forney and his son David enjoyed the For Love of Cars auto show last weekend at the Terrell Jubilee. Proceeds from the show benefit the Sharing the Love Foundation. Waymire entered his prized 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 376. Waymire named the car “Aspen” after his father, a federal police officer who passed away last July, whose favorite place was Aspen, Colo.
