New principal hired for Terrell HS

The Terrell Independent School District has hired Adam Toy as its new high school principal for the 2021-2022 school year. Toy joins the district from Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD, where he has served as the principal for DeWitt Perry Middle School since 2017.

Combining a nod to its future with an ode to its past, the new Town of Poetry saw its first elected leaders sworn into office May 15 during a community-wide fundraiser dedicated to historical preservation.

TISD staff to receive pandemic bonuses

For going “above and beyond” during the COVID-19 pandemic, employees of the Terrell ISD will be awarded a bonus of between $300 and $1,000, the school board decided Monday night. The one-time, supplemental payment will have a roughly $360,000 impact on the district’s budget, according to Tonya Tillman, the TISD’s deputy superintendent for business and operations.

Jake Wilson bass tourney draws 48 boats

The 4th Annual Jake Wilson Memorial Bass Tournament was held on Saturday, May 1 at the Minnow Bucket Marina on Lake Fork. We had a total of 48 boats trying for the 10 prizes and trying to catch the biggest bass for $500.
