Kaufman County recently announced that it will be hosting a COVID-19 vaccination site Monday – Saturday from Friday, Sept. 10 through Friday, Oct. 29, at the Shops at Terrell at 301 Tanger Drive, Suite 103 in Terrell (I-20 @ SH 34).

Service, sacrifices honored at 9/11 ceremony

Members of the Terrell community marked a somber milestone Saturday 11, holding a remembrance event to recognize the lives lost and sacrifices made by first responders 20 years earlier in the terrorist attacks that claimed 2,996 lives.

The Texas State Comptroller’s Office delivered welcome news Kaufman County officials and city leaders last week, announcing that 9/13 local cities had seen sales tax revenue gains when comparing against the same calendar month from the previous year.

I love coaching football and I have many people to thank for my opportunity. I want to say thank you to the men and women who have fought to allow me to do what I love, the first responders keeping us safe daily, and of course the people I work with each day. Why is it hard for some people to say thank you? Words of appreciation seem to be hard for some people to say to others.

County recognized for air quality improvements

The Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition recently recognized public-sector fleets for their efforts to reduce petroleum use and improve air quality as part of its annual Fleet Recognition Awards. The winners included nine Gold Level, four Silver Level and nine Bronze Level recipients. Kaufman County won in the Bronze Category.

Cooper named to SNHU Dean's List

Bianca Cooper of Terrell (75160) has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's summer 2021 Dean's List. Eligibility for the Dean's List requires that a student accumulate an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.5- 3.699 and earn 12 credits for the term.
