Hambric named to dean’s list

Body Columbia College of Missouri recently announced its dean's list for the Summer Semester (May-August, 2021). To be named to the dean's list, a student must have completed 12 semester hours in a 16-week period and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0-point scale.

NET RMA announces Priority Project winners

Body The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (NET RMA) gave back to the East Texas region by providing funds to Kaufman County in the amount of $77,817 for intersection improvements at SH 243/FM 2727.

Plans Underway for Historic Downtown Trick-or-Treat

Body There won’t be a shortage of candy, fun and frights this Halloween in Terrell America. The annual downtown trick-or-treat will take place on Friday, October 29 from 5:00 - 7:30 PM, during which downtown businesses will pass out candy to children.

County approves budget, lowers tax rate

Body For the fourth consecutive year, the Commissioners’ Court voted to lower the property tax rate and approved the 2021-‘22 Fiscal Year Budget at their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. The tax rate was lowered by 8.67 percent from .504957 to .461171 per $100 valuation.
