Body The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is making history, graduating its first ever DPS Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class. The class of 15 Troopers graduated during a ceremony at DPS Headquarters in Austin on Thursday, Sept. 30.

NCTCOG to host in-person open houses

Body The North Central Texas Council of Governments will hold a series of in-person open houses throughout the region, in October, to highlight the Dallas-Fort Worth High- Speed Transportation Connections Study’s purpose as well as the Phase 1 recommendations of the project.

State sales tax revenue totaled $3.1 billion in September

Body Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.15 billion in September, 22.3 percent more than in September 2020. The majority of September sales tax revenue is based on sales made in August and remitted to the agency in September.

Tigers set to continue district play

Body The Terrell Tigers have been a team on a mission throughout the early stages of the 2021 season, racing out of the gates to post a 4-1 record overall, including a 1-0 mark in District 7-4A play.
The 4-1 Terrell Tigers were scheduled to take on the 6-0 Kaufman Lions in a District 7-4A tilt Oct. 8 in Kaufman. The Lions are one of three District 7-4A teams, along with Melissa and Argyle, currently ranked in the top-10 according to Texas High School Football’s most recent 4A rankings.
