In an effort to restore faith to community children in crisis during the holiday season whose families may be experiencing financial hardship, children placed into foster care during the Christmas holiday and/or kinship families providing care for additional children in their home, the Gift of Hope is now underway in Kaufman County, and your generosity is needed and appreciated!

The Terrell Tigers entered the 2021 season with one of the most challenging schedules in the area, facing a slew of talented opponents including three ranked in the state’s top-10. Those teams mostly lived up to their pre-season billing with Melissa reaching the Regional Semifinals and Argyle reaching the Regional Quarterfinals.

The Terrell Tigers reached their busiest stretch of the season last week, making the short trek to Royse City to compete in the annual Craig Bowers Memorial Tournament Dec. 2-4.

The Terrell City Council wrapped up a busy month of meetings with a final session Nov. 30, tackling an agenda heavy on administrative reports before approving a resolution related to an opioid settlement that could ultimately net the city additional funding.

David Kapitan is the new editor of The Terrell Tribune. Kapitan has been interim editor of the Terrell Tribune most of the time since the end of June.

December 4 - A Christmas Carol by the THS Players @ 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

December is shaping up to be a busy month for the Terrell ISD Fine Arts Department with productions of “A Christmas Carol,” concerts, parade appearances and the annual Christmas Spectacular. Terrell students in grades 3 through 12 are working to entertain people throughout the city with a full slate of joyous holiday programs at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center.

For efforts that went above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic, Schrildea Glover, a fifthgrade teacher at Gilbert Willie Sr. Elementary School, was recently named a Ford Freedom Unsung Teacher Hero of COVID-19.

Larry Richard Jones, known by his friends as Rick, and lovingly by his family as “Pops”, 74, passed away November 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. Rick was born December 12, 1946 in Terrell, TX to Ben Duval Jr. and Mildred Jones.
