Dr. Horace Perry Flatt

Dr. Horace Perry Flatt passed away peacefully on November 22, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on August 28, 1930, to John Horace Flatt and Myrtie Mae Johnson Flatt, the second of their three children. He attended the public schools of Terrell, Texas, graduating as valedictorian of his class. Subsequently, he attended Rice Institute (now Rice University) where he received a bachelor’s degree in physics, as well as masters and doctorate degrees in mathematics.

Parade volunteers needed

Volunteers are still needed to help out with the annual Stanley Ballard Sr. Christmas Parade in Terrell scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11. Among other duties, volunteers are needed to man barricades, help check in floats, line up parade entries, and help out at parking lots. Time running out to take I-20 survey

As part of the statewide I-20 Texas Corridor Study, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is requesting public input through an online survey through Dec. 10. The survey asks respondents to weigh in on their transportation priorities for I-20, their points of interest along the corridor, and issues or opportunities that should be addressed.

The Kaufman County Clerk’s office, along with the County Court at Law 2 office kicked off the Kaufman Downtown Merchants’ annual “Peanut Butter and Jolly” food drive by donating 200 jars of peanut butter and jelly.

City sees sales tax revenue boom
