Sheriff’s Office to host blood drive

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with Carter BloodCare to host a blood drive event Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Courthouse Annex Building in Kaufman (100 N. Washington St.).

Early primary voting to begin Feb. 14

The countdown to another election cycle is officially on with early voting for this year’s Republican and Democratic Primaries slated to begin Feb. 14 throughout Kaufman County. Voters will have plenty to consider with dozens of positions at both the local and state level on the ballot.

Hulsey Public Library and The Center are hosting a free income tax preparation event each Monday (excluding March 14) from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Hulsey Public Library’s Community Room located at 301 N. TVCC Welding department receives new Iron Worker

With grant money that Trinity Valley Community College received from the Marr Foundation, the welding department purchased a new Iron Worker. “The TVCC Welding Department is very thankful to the Marr Foundation for their generous grant, which allowed the purchase of the machine and other hand tools for the Welding Department,” TVCC Welding instructor Tom Sheram said.
TVCC students started using the new Iron Worker machine Thursday at the welding department. Those students are Cameron Spurlock and Abner Ramirez from Palestine and Clayton Culligan from Okeechobee, Florida. Courtesy photo
