The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance this week in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Forney Jan. 29.
Texas Deputy Secretary of State Joe Esparza today drew the ballot order for the two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that will appear on the ballot for the May 7, 2022, election. In order to appear on the ballot, the proposed amendments must be approved by at least two-thirds of the members of both the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives.
James F. Crouch, 98, of Terrell, Texas, passed away peacefully on Jan. 28, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on Dec. 20, 1923, to the late T. Vane and Trudie Causbie Crouch in the College Mound Community of Kaufman County, Texas. He was joyfully met in Heaven by his parents; his beloved wife, Evalyn; his brothers, Perry Bruce Crouch and Taylor Crouch, and his sister, Charlotte Crouch Ward.

Sarah Horan (BS Mission Aviation) was named to the Fall 2021 President’s List at LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. The President’s List recognizes students who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the semester to receive this honor. LeTourneau University President Dr. Steven D. Mason said being named to the President’s List is, indeed, a significant achievement and honor.
Jasmine Baldwin and Maikayla Garner earned a spot on the Dean’s List of Academic Honors at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville for the fall semester. Both are undergraduates who have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 out of a perfect 4.0 in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours.
Members of the Terrell Tiger and Lady Tigers powerlifting team continued their respective spring seasons last week, competing at the Eustace Invitational Meet Jan. 27.
The Terrell Tigers opened the month of February on a winning note, defending their home court with a 53-32 victory over the visiting Quinlan Ford Panthers. Terrell played well throughout the contest, outpacing the Panthers in all four quarters on their way to the 21-point win.
