Lanny Joseph Perry, of Terrell, passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Saturday, May 7, 2022, with his loving family at his side. Joe was born June 19, 1944, in Madison, West Virginia, and was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Kathleen Pauley Perry; sisters: Sally Hawk and Suzzanna McDonald and brother, Gene Bradley.

Omega Hawkins, who retired as STAR Transit’s Executive Director in 2019, is the organization’s new Primary Place 1 board member. The board elected Hawkins on April 19. Previously, she was serving as Alternate Member Place 1.

Terrell FreedomFest…Let it Fly!

This year, make plans to enjoy Terrell FreedomFest which includes the traditional 4th of July Fireworks Display at the Terrell Municipal Airport. In 2021 a decision was made to relocate the firework show for safety concerns, considering the close proximity of the Timbers apartment complex, Furlough Middle School and the ExCEL Center.

North Texas Antique Tractor Show set for June 11-12

The North Texas Antique Tractor and Engine Club’s Show, Pull and Swap meet will be held Saturday and Sunday June 11-12 at Ben Gill Park in Terrell. The show hours are Saturday, June 13 – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ages eight and under get into the event for free. Admission for age nine and up is $5. The event will consist of small engine displays, tractor parade, tractor display, antique tractor pulls and a kiddie obstacle course. A dinner provided for exhibitors will be provided Saturday night.
