SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans available to Texas small businesses

Small nonfarm businesses in 194 Texas counties and neighboring counties in New Mexico and Oklahoma are now eligible to apply for lowinterest federal disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, announced Director Tanya N. Garfield of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by excessive heat in the following primary counties that occurred May 1 - Sept. 30, 2022.

The Kaufman County Commissioners Court found itself on familiar ground this week, revisiting several items that had been discussed in recent weeks. Commissioners opened their weekly business by appointing Jim Davis, Beverly Curtis, Zahnd Schlensker, Jeff Baska, Katie Conrad, Rheanne Archer, Michael Hunt, Cassidy Earnheart, Jody Deller, Dottie Durrett and Kari Rough to the Kaufman County Historical Commission for new two-year terms.
