BFTS Museum to host “Allies to Enemies Program”

“Unlikely Allies, Future Enemies: Soviet-German Cooperation and the Transformation of Air Power Between Two World Wars” will be the program topic at the BFTS Museum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd in Terrell at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 “Our speaker, Dr. Scott W. Palmer, Professor of History at UT Arlington, is an expert on World War II and military aviation,” explained Patrick Hotard, museum executive director. “During his talk, Dr. Palmer will discuss how Russia and Germany cooperated between the two world wars and how military aviation changed as a result.”

editor@terrelltribune.com Prospective candidates interested in serving on either the Terrell City Council or Terrell ISD Board of Trustees will soon have the opportunity to do so with another election filing period looming just over the horizon. Election filing for both the city and school is scheduled to get underway beginning January 18, and run through February 17.

Court holds first meeting of new year

The Kaufman County Commissioners Court officially opened a new chapter Jan. 3, holding its first meeting since newly-elected County Judge Jakie Allen and Precinct 4 Commissioner Tommy Moore Following a series of bookkeeping items, the court heard a presentation from Kaufman County Director of Facilities Bobby Bridges on a series of topics including the Kaufman County Animal Shelter, Justice Center and other construction projects.

THS student’s ornament hangs on Capitol Christmas Tree

An ornament designed and painted by a Terrell High School student hung in the House of Representatives chamber in the State Capitol over the recent Christmas holiday. Evelyn Aviles hand-painted the ornament as a tribute to her school by including the Terrell High School mascot, a tiger, with a bow and the words “Terrell 2022” across the top.

Esquivel posts hat trick in win
