Eight-time World Champion, Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame Inductee, and Terrell resident, Donnie Gay, is hosting a new television series on WILD RIDES TV titled RODEO’s SON. Of course, Gay is no stranger to television, having color commentated on countless National Finals Rodeo broadcasts on the Cowboy Channel and RFD-TV, as well as other broadcasts.

July 4: Terrell’s Freedom Fest 2023 will take place at the Terrell Municipal Airport. The family- friendly event includes food vendors, a kids zone and activities for all ages.

Adopt A Classroom campaign underway at Terrell ISD

To ensure that students have the tools needed to be successful, Terrell ISD annually raises funds for the “Adopt a Classroom” campaign. As the student population continues to grow so does the number of classrooms. This year, TISD has set the goal of raising $60,000 – the largest goal to date for this program.

Local blood drives announced

Blood donors are lifesavers for local patients who need transfusions. This includes children fighting cancer, mothers going through difficult childbirths, family members who require surgery, and grandparents with health issues, among many others in need.

The City of Terrell reached the finish line of another election season during the early evening hours of June 10 as Phil Robison fended off incumbent Andreia Reese in a runoff to determine who would represent District 5 on the Terrell City Council.

Hulsey Library officials kicked off their 15th annual Summer Reading Challenge in style June 6, hosting a kick off and activities fair that included a live bubble show, train rides, face painting, free snacks, bounce houses, therapy animals, vendors, raffles and more. The library maintains a busy schedule throughout the year, hosting educational and entertainment events for people of all ages. In Texas, mosquito bites are more than just an annoyance. Mosquitoes can transmit diseases that can make you and your family sick. Some mosquito- borne diseases can cause birth defects and others can be fatal. Mosquitoes may become infected when they bite an animal, bird, or person who is infected with a virus or parasite. Infected mosquitoes can then spread the illness to people through bites.

Man found guilty by Kaufman County jury

District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced this week that a Kaufman County jury has found Andy Gonzalez, 33, guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Younger than 14. Gonzalez was sentenced to 65 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
