Henderson sentenced to 60 years in North Forney High School slaying

District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced today that a Kaufman County jury has sentenced 21-year-old Zacchaeus Ja’Juan Henderson to 60 years in the Texas penitentiary. After a week-long trial before Honorable Judge Shelton Gibbs in the 422nd District Court of Kaufman County, a jury found Henderson guilty of murder in the September 2021 shooting that took place outside of North Forney High School just hours before classes were to start.

Rue 21 closes doors, makes big donation

editor@terrelltribune.com The doors of Rue 21 at The Shops at Terrell came to a close for the final time Thursday, May 30. In a lasting and generous gesture, Rue 21 donated all remaining clothes, valued at around $2,500 to the non-profit Kaufman County Community United (KCCU) that helps uniting multilingual communities for higher education and voting initiatives.

City offers important tips following storms

Pickups will be prioritized according to the following criteria: —Streets with open ditch drainage —Mosquito-prone areas —Traffic safety —Pending roadway or utility construction Residents are asked to place brush piles in the yard at the curb directly next to the street.

Veteran Lake Tawakoni guide David Hanson eased the throttle back on his big Falcon guide boat as we entered a stump field on the north end of the lake. We had left the ramp at Anchor Inn Marina a few minutes before and traveled north at a good clip, but as ever savvy boater knows, it was time to slow down to avoid hitting stumps that might top out at only inches below the water’s surface.

7ers advance to Central Conference Finals

Amazing was the word onlookers used most often to describe the demonstration presented by Robotics Club members from Terrell High School at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum on June 1. That word was followed by, “I can’t believe high school kids did all this”.
