editor@terrelltribune.com The search continues for a Wills Point man that was reported missing on April 23. Alfredo Chavez was reported missing on April 23 and after an extensive search on April 24 and 25, Chavez has yet to be found.

Members of Envision Day Hab, an adult day care center in Terrell, got a huge surprise from Platinum Chevrolet recently as they got to view a bright green Chevrolet Corvette, making their day after they finished up their spring fling dance that served as their prom. The group enjoyed dancing, dinner and karaoke along with pictures. After reaching out to Platinum Chevrolet, the company fulfilled the wishes of many of the adults as their love for cars was granted as they took pictures with the vehicle. editor@terrelltribune.com Terrell’s Fifth Annual Taco Festival returns to Historic Downtown Terrell on Saturday, May 9. The event will feature tacos, live music, ballet folklorico, shopping, kids activities and a marketplace.

Six Terrell Tigers athletes put pen to paper on April 23 for National Signing Day. Kenneth Allen, Jr., Kaleb Bellmore, Elijah Weber, Amarin Miles, Carson Baskin and Brian White, Jr. all signed to play sports collegiately for Terrell.

KAUFMAN–Kaufman County Grand Jury returned 65 indictments April 24. Indictment information obtained from the District Clerk’s office does not include ages or addresses of defendants.

KAUFMAN-Kaufman County Commissioners' Court voted April 28 to approve an application for state aid to repair the dam at Cedar Creek Site 60, better known as Kaufman City Lake. Owen Cantrell, a district technician with the Kaufman-Van Zandt-Rockwall Soil and Water Conservation District, said the conservation district applied for a federally funded rehabilitation project in June 2024, which the commissioners' court signed off on, he added.

The Poetry Community Christian School Speech Tournament concluded last week. Top honors went to the following winners: Duet Acting (Bethany Adams, Grady Garvin, Haley Lozano, Chloe Reid, Gracie Johnson, Sofia McKee), Prose Interpretation (Chloe Green, Enrik Martinez, Dominick Peralta, Declamation (Lily Spakes, Katalina Conejo), Original Oratory (Layla Bunch, Alice Yoo, Style Mack). Elementary students competed in Bible Memory and Prose Interpretation with top awards going to Kendra Palestina, Rosalynn Dominguez, and Abby Jorzig.
