I sure am glad there’s no law in Terrell about going around outside in your pajamas. Or my wife Daria and I would be in trouble.

I look back over my coaching career and see so many things I would do differently now. Many coaches go to extremes to motivate their team. In 1989, I did exactly that while coaching at Ft. Scott Community College.

May 27: The Terrell High School Class of 2022 will participate in commencement exercises beginning at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. The event will be moved to the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center if weather becomes a factor.

May 28: Lake Tawakoni State Park, located at 10822 FM 2475, will host a Build-a-Bug event beginning at 2 p.m. Organizers stated, “Show off your art skills as we learn about the tools bugs use for survival! Join a ranger to identify the advantages and importance of bug adaptations through this craft activity. Bring your creativity and a friend.” The program is free with paid park entry. No registration or RSVP is required.

April 21-22: The Terrell Tigerettes will host their annual Spring Show at the Jamie Foxx Performing Arts Center beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. This year’s theme will be A Night at the Movies. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.vancoevents.com/bcpk.

April 15-16: Shoppers looking for anything and everything under the sun will be in paradise April 16-18 with the annual Historic U.S. 80 Hi-Way Sale set to return. Vendors will be set up along Highway 80 from Mesquite, Texas, to Jackson, Mississippi, selling homemade goods, furniture, tools, clothes and more during the three-day event. April 1: The Terrell ISD Winterguard will perform their award-winning programs during a special Friends and Family Performance event at the Terrell High School Athletic Complex beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is free, and show shirts will be available for purchase at $20 each.

March 11: The Knights of Columbus Fish Fry will run from 6-8 p.m. at St. Johns Parrish. The cost is $12 per adult, and $6 for children under 12. Fish fries will also be held every Friday in March as well as April 1 and April 8.

The NFL legend running back Adrian Peterson will not face felony domestic violence charges, despite initially being booked for the serious offence. The 36-year-old former All-Pro player was arrested for domestic violence, but the L.A. District Attorney will not pursue charges. The case will be sent to the City Attorney and Peterson could face misdemeanor domestic charges, though.
