May 28: Lake Tawakoni State Park, located at 10822 FM 2475, will host a Build-a-Bug event beginning at 2 p.m. Organizers stated, “Show off your art skills as we learn about the tools bugs use for survival! Join a ranger to identify the advantages and importance of bug adaptations through this craft activity. Bring your creativity and a friend.” The program is free with paid park entry. No registration or RSVP is required.

April 15-16: Shoppers looking for anything and everything under the sun will be in paradise April 16-18 with the annual Historic U.S. 80 Hi-Way Sale set to return. Vendors will be set up along Highway 80 from Mesquite, Texas, to Jackson, Mississippi, selling homemade goods, furniture, tools, clothes and more during the three-day event. The NFL legend running back Adrian Peterson will not face felony domestic violence charges, despite initially being booked for the serious offence. The 36-year-old former All-Pro player was arrested for domestic violence, but the L.A. District Attorney will not pursue charges. The case will be sent to the City Attorney and Peterson could face misdemeanor domestic charges, though.
