It takes a community

Body
There is an old African proverb that says, “It takes a village to raise a child”. The essence of the proverb is more than one household generally contributes to the success of a child. Throughout my life, I have found time and time again, this is absolutely true. By extension, that proverb can also be applies to a community. It can easily and truthfully be said that it takes multiple groups to move a community forward, and there is no better example of that than right here in Terrell America.

In Praise of Local Control and High Standards

Body

Throughout the course of the day, one can observe elation, desperation, anxiety, apprehension, resignation and occasionally, satisfaction. That is because a day at the racetrack involves money, winning and losing.

An Olympic summer

Body
The world opened up a little this summer to host the Olympic games. An event, no matter our political thoughts, that brings the world together in competition. The summer Olympics recently ended, and the 2020 Paralympic games will begin next week and will remind the world of those who compete showing great ability to overcome, like Terrell’s own Randy Snow.
