Hulsey Library celebrates WINGS grand opening

Riter C. Hulsey Public Library celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting of the WINGS: Career & Testing Center located in Terrell’s historic downtown Train Depot (200 South Virginia Street). WINGS: Adult Education Coordinator Lora West had the honor of cutting the ribbon. The library was joined by the Friends of the Library board members, Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona, City Council members Mayrani Valezquez and Donna Renee Anderson, as well as Terrell Chamber of Commerce President Angie Cooper.

Terrell, Kaufman mayors renew Highway 34 rivalry

Terrell Mayor Rick Carmona (right) challenged Kaufman Mayor Jeff Jordan to a bet on the long-standing rivalry - Kaufman vs. Terrell varsity football game. Other county leaders joining in on the challenge were (from left) Kaufman Chamber President Anne Glasscock, Kaufman Superintendent Dr. Joshua Garcia, Terrell Superintendent Dr. Georgeanne Warnock and Terrell Chamber President Angie Cooper. The losers will reportedly have to wear the winners’ jerseys at a future public meeting.
