Terrell ISD announced the appointment of Jennifer Lopez as the new Principal of W.H. Burnett Early Childhood Center. Principal Lopez brings 18 years of educational experience to the district and is a proven leader of Head start programs which will be extremely beneficial for W.H. Burnett families.

The 15-year-old female, who this publication will not name, was last seen in the 100 block of Jackson around 10:30 a.m., Sunday, June 16 according to Terrell PD.

Henderson sentenced to 60 years in North Forney High School slaying

District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced today that a Kaufman County jury has sentenced 21-year-old Zacchaeus Ja’Juan Henderson to 60 years in the Texas penitentiary. After a week-long trial before Honorable Judge Shelton Gibbs in the 422nd District Court of Kaufman County, a jury found Henderson guilty of murder in the September 2021 shooting that took place outside of North Forney High School just hours before classes were to start.

On June 4, 2024, the Kaufman County Street Crimes Task Force received information that an individual was possibly in possession and/or selling illegal dangerous drugs out of a residence in Forney. The Kaufman County Street Crimes Task Force took immediate action to prevent the dangerous drugs from falling into the hands of children and unsuspecting victims within our community.
