REACH Child Placing Agency (REACH) will host their 5th Annual Casino Night on Friday, March 22, 2024 at The Establishment Barn in Terrell. REACH is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that serves and cares for abused and/or neglected children in crisis in Kaufman County.

Local law enforcement recovers over $90K of stolen property, drugs

Between February 29 through March 3, 2024, a collaborative proactive policing effort involving the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Kaufman County Street Crimes Unit, Forney Police Department, Kaufman County Pct. 2 deputies, and the Kaufman County DA’s Office yielded significant results. During this three-day operation, law enforcement successfully recovered over $90,000 worth of stolen property (including a trailer filled with stolen mattresses), vehicles, and travel trailers.

Major accident causes shutdown on I-20

A major accident involving multiple vehicles caused major delays on Interstate 20 in between Terrell and Canton Sunday afternoon. Engine 5501 of the Elmo Fire Department was driving by as the accident occurred March 10 and immediately started assessing the scene.
