Texas public student scores in standardized testing continue to improve since the pandemic, but more than half of those taking the test still struggle with math and just under half read below grade-level, the Texas Tribune reported. Students in grades three through eight took the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) tests in math and reading last spring.

The Terrell Chamber of Commerce members surprise local business Mariposa with a cash mob Aug. 17. Members came to Mariposa to spend at least $20 in a monthly initiative to support local businesses. Mariposa provides women’s clothing among many other apparel items. It is located at 410 W. High St in Terrell.
