The Kaufman County Behavioral Health Leadership Board, led by Criminal Court at Law #2 Judge Bobby Rich, was established in March with the aim of providing recommendations and guidance to various entities and stakeholders. Their primary goal is to enhance access to care services and address the mental health needs of individuals in Kaufman County. Currently, the board convenes once a month at Terrell State Hospital to discuss action plans and prioritize mental health initiatives within the county.

This past week, Terrell native Jamie Foxx, in cooperation with Gilbert Willie Charities, funded the resurfacing and upgrades of one of the city’s existing basketball courts at Breezy Hill Park, a city park located in the neighborhood where he grew up.

editor@terrelltribune.com The Terrell High School Class of 2023 made the transition from high school students to high school graduates last week, participating in com-as well as other honor and high honor graduates, began filing their way around the track and onto the field to the traditional playing of “Pomp and Circumstance” as family members, friends and TISD staffers cheered their every step.

DAVID KAPITAN editor@terrelltribune.com Eligible voters residing in Terrell’s District 5 were officially placed on the clock again this week, getting another opportunity to shape the city’s future by casting a ballot in the runoff election between incumbent Andreia Reese and challenger Phil Robison after the May 6 election cycle concluded with no candidate receiving more than 50 percent of the vote. Robison narrowly missed out to secure his place on the council once votes were tabulated during the May 6 cycle, finishing with 49.56 percent of the votes cast.

Why do you feel that you are the best candidate for this position? First of all, 'Thank You' to the Terrell Tribune for the opportunity to share my story. The strength of my candidacy can be summed up with one word: EXPERIENCE! Experience in being a longtime volunteer in our community, long before I ever considered running for or serving on the city council.

Why do you feel that you are the best candidate for this position? I believe the citizens of Terrell know what is at stake when we go to the polls on May 6. They see our town on the verge of unprecedented growth and are rightly concerned about what this means for our future.
