Sales tax revenues increase 14.34 percent

DAVID KAPITAN editor@terrelltribune.com The Texas State Comptroller’s Office delivered a welcome dose of good news to Kaufman County cities last week, reporting for the third consecutive month that 11 out of 13 local entities had seen sales tax revenue gains when comparing against totals from the same calendar month from the previous year. In keeping with local trends, the City of Terrell led the way by seeing a county-best increase of $172,192.91 in collections, from $1,201,109.23 in April 2022 up to $1,373,302.14 in April 2023.
