With the close of whitetail muzzleloader season this past weekend, deer season is officially closed with the exception of some ranches managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife where deer can be hunted through February.

The Terrell Tigers had their hands full this week, playing host to a Forney team that has suffered just three setbacks during the 2022-’23 season. Forney would go on to live up to its pre-game billing against the Tigers, getting off to a fast start and never looking back in an eventual 73-45 win.

Terrell native to compete in Top Fuel

NHRA Sportsman racer and Paris, Texas native Mark Sharrock has announced the formation of a new Top Fuel team to compete on a limited schedule in the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. Sharrock Motorsports has acquired the Top Fuel dragster formerly owned and built by NHRA Funny Car driver and team owner Terry Haddock.

The Kaufman County Commissioners Court found itself on familiar ground this week, revisiting several items that had been discussed in recent weeks. Commissioners opened their weekly business by appointing Jim Davis, Beverly Curtis, Zahnd Schlensker, Jeff Baska, Katie Conrad, Rheanne Archer, Michael Hunt, Cassidy Earnheart, Jody Deller, Dottie Durrett and Kari Rough to the Kaufman County Historical Commission for new two-year terms.
