Gas prices climb to new heights

Average gasoline prices in Texas have risen 9.2 cents per gallon in the last week, averaging $4.65/g June 13, according to GasBuddy’s survey of 13,114 stations in Texas. Prices in Texas are 54.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand $1.89/g higher than a year ago. The price of diesel has fallen 4.0 cents nationally in the past week and stands at $5.50 per gallon.

Economic Development Corporation President Ray Dunlap served as the guest speaker at the June 14 Terrell Kiwanis Club meeting. Dunlap provided a brief history of the EDC while also providing a look ahead at new and exciting projects slated to come to the Terrell community. The Charles Butt Foundation, a non-profit pursuing a more equitable and prosperous future for all Texans through education and community partnerships, announced May 9 that it will sponsor educators from 54 district and charter schools across Texas to attend weeklong summer institutes at the Principals’ Center at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
