Terrell man arrested for online solicitation of a minor

An online operation run by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office on multiple platforms for offenders soliciting minors for sexual acts resulted in the arrest of a 32-year old Terrell man identified as Eliphas Alinyo Osinde on March 24. Osinde operates a dental practice in Terrell.

Track competes at Naaman Forest Relays

The Terrell track and field team continued its preparations for the upcoming District 13- 4A Meet last week, competing at the annual Naaman Forest Relays in Garland March 31. Terrell came in seventh overall in the varsity girls division out of 17 competing schools.

Raiders rally past Tigers, 6-4

The Terrell Tigers wrapped up their season series with Sunnyvale last week, watching their late rally come up short in a 6-4 setback to the Raiders. Sunnyvale got the better of Terrell throughout the early stages of the contest, scoring a run in the first and one in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.

Multiple sections of Kaufman County were on high alert Monday night, April 4, as severe weather with extreme winds, hail and rain hit with vengeance. Once the storm passed, many were shocked to see the amount of damage left behind but were thankful that there were no reports of injury or death.

On March 29, members of the Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Kaufman County Child Welfare Board gathered with State Representative Keith Bell, County Judge Hal Richards and many other community leaders to officially proclaim the month of April 2022 as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month in Kaufman County.

April 8: The Knights of Columbus Fish Fry will run from 6-8 p.m. at St. Johns Parrish. The cost is $12 per adult, and $6 for children under 12. Fish fries will also be held every Friday in March as well as April 1 and April 8.
