Sales tax revenues climb locally

The City of Terrell picked up where it left off to open the new year, seeing another increase in its sales tax revenue growth, according to the office of Texas State Comptroller Glenn Hegar. According to data released earlier this month, Terrell received a payment of $1,423,066.16 in January 2022.

The Terrell Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance this week after an as yet unidentified subject committed a burglary at a downtown business Jan. 12.
Local law enforcement officials are seeking any and all information regarding a burglary that occurred in the early morning hours Jan. 12 in the 1200 block of W. Nine Lady Tigers earn All-District honors

With the District 13-4A volleyball season now in the rearview, coaches have released their list of Superlative and All-District honorees for the 2021 season. Despite competing in a district that included perennial powers Farmersville and Caddo Mills, as well as Sunnyvale, Kaufman, Quinlan Ford and Nevada Community, Terrell was well represented with multiple players receiving recognition for their performance both on the court and in the classroom.

Tigers win fifth straight in district

The Terrell Tigers continued their march towards postseason play last week, hitting the court twice for district contests against Caddo Mills and Sunnyvale. Terrell would win each matchup, running their season-long winning streak to five during the most crucial stretch of the season.

THS cheer earns second place at Nationals

Months of preparation and practicing paid off for the Terrell High School cheerleading team when they placed second in the nation at the FCC Nationals over winter break. The team comprised of 19 young ladies traveled to Orlando, Florida, to compete against some of the most competitive teams across the country and came home with several awards.

The Terrell Police Department took to social media on Wednesday, asking for the public’s assistance on identifying the person or persons involved in a single-vehicle accident along West Moore Avenue in the early morning hours of Jan. 9.
