In early 2020, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) received test results confirming that Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV) was found in several species of wild rabbits in Texas. Since April of this year, TPWD, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) have not confirmed any new cases in wild rabbit populations in the state. However, TPWD is seeking input from the public, especially hunters, asking that they report any dead rabbits found this fall and winter, similar to practices encouraged last year.

Terrell City Council recently commissioned JBJ Management and 2M Research to conduct a Quality of Life audit to ensure city planning efforts reflect the amenities that are most beneficial to current and future residents.

These individuals from Terrell are participating in the latest Leadership Kaufman County program. The nine-month program is designed to train and encourage business people and other residents of Kaufman County to take an active role in determining the county’s future. The program’s objective is to develop a heightened sense of community awareness, involvement and leadership. The churches of Terrell are gathering and inviting the public to a citywide Thanksgiving service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov.

Grief is a difficult emotion, especially when those around you are in happy and celebrating. After the loss of a loved one our grief can be even more intense. During the Christmas season that lost can be felt deeper than before.

The Shops at Terrell were evacuated shortly before noon on Saturday, Nov. 6 after a natural gas leak was reported.
