The City of Oak Ridge honored its oldest living founder on Nov. 20 as the community named its first park after 105-year-old Robert LaRue.

The NorthTexas Longhorns Summer Track Club was recognized by the City Council last week. Of the club's 74 athletes, 48 qualified for the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation Games of Texas. For the second year in a row, the Terrell High School Debate Team will be competing at the State UIL competition. Following six hours of debate against 18 competitors at the UIL Region Congressional Debate Tournament held on November 10, Terrell High School students John Ory and Dalila Ramirez both secured spots at the State tournament to be held in Austin this coming January.

The Terrell public will have its first opportunity to see Trinity Valley Community College’s Health Sciences Center in Terrell on Dec. 8 from 1-5 p.m. during its 19th Biennial Red Stocking Tea and Open House.
