County approves budget, lowers tax rate

For the fourth consecutive year, the Commissioners’ Court voted to lower the property tax rate and approved the 2021-‘22 Fiscal Year Budget at their regular meeting on Tuesday, August 24, 2021. The tax rate was lowered by 8.67 percent from .504957 to .461171 per $100 valuation.

City's rights affirmed by Texas Supreme Court

The Fifth District Court of Appeals has ruled in favor of the city of Terrell, affirming their right to proceed with entryway protection during this high growth time. In August of 2019, City of Terrell annexation proceedings were delayed when a Kaufman County Court at Law issued a temporary restraining injunction on behalf of property owners who challenged the city’s process.

Terrell PD seeks help in investigation

On August 10, 2021 at approximately 4.51 p.m. an unidentified white male committed a theft at 701 W. Moore Ave. This subject appears to be in his late 20s to mid 30s, has a heavy build and full beard. The subject also has a distinct tattoo on the back of his upper left arm. The tattoo is in the shape of a vertical rectangle. At the time of the theft the subject was possibly driving a white 1997-2008 Buick Regal or Buick Century with chrome wheels or hubcaps, with the exception of the left front wheel which was black.
