Cooler weather = active catfish

Many people think of catching catfish as a summertime endeavor but some of the best blue catfish action begins about this of the year when water temperatures begin to fall. While the red hot ‘big fish’ trophy catching will peak in a few weeks as water temperature falls into the 60s, lots of eater size fish weighing between four and 15 pounds, with an occasional trophy class fish are currently being landed.

King Charles III awards Terrell resident the British Empire Medal

William (Bill) Huthmacher of Terrell, was one of four Americans honored at a formal Investiture Ceremony at the British Embassy in Washington DC on October 3, 2025 “in recognition of his outstanding achievements and services to the United Kingdom”. The group was named by His Majesty King Charles III in the Birthday Honors List 2024 and the New Year’s Honors Lists 24-25. Charge d’Affairs James Roscoe hosted the event.
