Kaufman County jail receives A+ inspection grade

Body
ashlee@themonitor.net Kaufman County Sheriff Bryan Beavers presented a report about the jail inspection to the county commissioners during the Feb. 13 commissioners court meeting. Beavers said that typically a county judge or commissioner must also be present during an inspection so he reached out to Commissioner Pct. 4 Tommy Moore to participate. The inspection has over 600 points during the walk-through aspect including but not limited to, life safety, staff training and records of releases. “We did really, really good through our inspection. The only error we did find was a small error in our classification,” explained Beavers. He continued stating they had two scales of classification instead of one, however, everyone was classified properly. The jail was also commended for its cleanliness. Beavers spoke about an ongoing plumbing issue that he brought to Moore’s attention located under the building. Beavers stated that this was an A+ inspection grade and that this report is the 19th consecutive year with a passing grade for the county jail. “I’m proud of my staff. The men and women over there work really hard making sure we get all our time stamps,” stated Beaver.
