Terrell ISD’s School Board of Trustees recognized the Class of 2026 Top 10 students during their meeting on Monday, May 18. School board members recognized Valedictorian Emily Bunch (in numerical order 1-10), Salutatorian Shelby Kuban, Emily Evans and Isabella Cutchall (tied for third), Hilario Montoya, Miranda Valdelamar Guerrero, Allison Craven, Cailor Martinez, Mariana Perez Lopez, Caden Warnock and Zulli Galindo.

Texas Health’s Mobile Health Unit will make its way to Terrell on Saturday, June 13. Public access to this women’s mobile health unit will be at Redeemed Christian Church of God, located at 8485 Michael Talty Ave.

There’s something very special about river fishing. I grew up a few miles from the Red River in Red River County and have fond memories of bank fishing along the river. I remember my dad telling me there was a dam many miles upstream that impounded a huge body of water situated along the Texas/ Oklahoma border called Lake Texoma. I was well into my twenties before I discovered Texoma and sampled the great striper fishing there.

editor@terrelltribune.com Terrell ISD swore in their new board officers, and two members took the oath of office during their regular meeting on Monday, May 18. The three officers that were sworn in were President Tonya Derrick, Vice President Monty Westbrook and Secretary Anne McDonald.

Kaufman County Judge Jakie Allen, along with the Kaufman County Commissioners Court, signed a proclamation recognizing May 11–16 as National Salvation Army Week in Kaufman County. The proclamation honors the long-standing service and dedication of The Salvation Army and its commitment to helping individuals and families throughout Kaufman County and surrounding communities.
