As we close out another year, we had many highs and lows as the year comes to a close. As we reach the midway point of the decade, and as we enter a new year into 2026, we want to look back on some of our biggest stories of the year here at The Terrell Tribune while continuing to push forward into a bright future.

Rockin’ Around Terrell!

The Stanley Ballard Sr. Christmas Parade, with the theme of ‘Rockin’ Around Terrell’, made its way down Moore Ave. and across the City of Terrell on Saturday, Dec. 13. with multiple floats, cars and tons of Christmas spirit. Grand Marshal “Best of Theme” Award with to Terrell Youth Athletes Cheer Squads. Judges’ Award for “Best Overall” went to Volunteer Services Council from Terrell State Hospital. Comical occurrences in the outdoors

As an outdoors writer for the past 40 years and a lifelong outdoors person, I have more than my share of down right comical things that occurred while spending time hunting, fishing and kicking around the outdoors.

Authorities investigating two deaths in GBC’s Willowwood

Two deceased people were found in the early morning hours of Dec. 15 by the Gun Barrel City Police Department (GBCPD), which was following up on a call for service at a residence in the Willowwood subdivision (which is located off Legendary Lane), according to GBCPD.

Terrell VFD has busy weekend with wrecks

The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department put in long hours over this past weekend, working multiple accidents and wrecks in and around the city limits. Things started with a late evening wreck on Friday, Dec. 12 on I-20 west of FM 148 with a two-vehicle crash. Terrell VFD was then on the scene of another wreck shortly after at FM 986 and FM 3486. The weekend ended with a two-vehicle crash and fire on Highway 34 near Westpoint Circle, closing the highway with CareFlite responding to the accident on Saturday, Dec. 13.
