“The 1911 Sidearm of Two World Wars” is the title of the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum’s October 27 program that is free and open to the public. The program begins at 7 pm at the museum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd. in Terrell.

Ribbon cutting set for new justice center

County officials took to social media this week, inviting the public for a special ribbon cutting event for the soon to be completed Kaufman County Justice Center located at 1902 US Highway 175 in Kaufman.

DAR to host blood drive at Film Alley

More than 15-million pints of blood are transfused in this country each year. That exceeds 40-thousand pints daily. Hospitals in north, central and east Texas are using only a fraction of that amount, but Carter BloodCare still requests 1,000 volunteer blood donors each day to keep pace with local hospital demands.

My pecan tree is dripping sap

I was visiting with Alaina Smith, secretary at the Van Zandt AgriLife Extension office, about what was the most asked question this past week. She said there were numerous calls about pecan trees dripping sap on cars and windshields that had been parked under them.
