The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department received back-to-back calls during the early afternoon hours June 18, responding to calls for a vehicle fire and an illegal burn. TVFD officials provided an update regarding the incidents via social media stating, “At 1:36 p.m., your Terrell volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire on FM 3486 near Hwy 34.

The Terrell City Council turned its eyes towards the future on Tuesday night, continuing to chart a path that will ultimately lead to residential and business expansion opportunities. A would-be bank robber was arrested and taken into custody without incident June 16 thanks in large part to the efforts of an off-duty Terrell Police Department officer. According to a narrative of the incident released by the police department the following day, “An off-duty Police Lieutenant thwarted a robbery attempt at a local bank in the 2400 block of West Moore Avenue (USHWY80).
