TVFD responds to vehicle fire, illegal burn calls

The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department received back-to-back calls during the early afternoon hours June 18, responding to calls for a vehicle fire and an illegal burn. TVFD officials provided an update regarding the incidents via social media stating, “At 1:36 p.m., your Terrell volunteer firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle fire on FM 3486 near Hwy 34.

DPS investigates motorcycle crash in Poetry

The Terrell Volunteer Fire Department had its hands full June 20, responding to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Poetry. Posting on Facebook after the scene was cleared TVFD officials stated, “At 5:21 p.m.

City sets sights on future developments

The Terrell City Council turned its eyes towards the future on Tuesday night, continuing to chart a path that will ultimately lead to residential and business expansion opportunities. The council opened its monthly business with a pair of recognitions as Mayor Rick Carmona read proclamations honoring recent graduate John Ory for his academic successes and current student Che’Merian Richmond for her academic and athletic successes representing Terrell ISD.

Robbery attempt thwarted by off-duty officer

A would-be bank robber was arrested and taken into custody without incident June 16 thanks in large part to the efforts of an off-duty Terrell Police Department officer. According to a narrative of the incident released by the police department the following day, “An off-duty Police Lieutenant thwarted a robbery attempt at a local bank in the 2400 block of West Moore Avenue (USHWY80).
