Job fair to provide local opportunities

Kaufman County Economic Development Corporations are hosting a job fair on Friday, May 6, from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. at 607 E. Fair St. in Kaufman. Economic Development Corporations from Terrell, Kaufman, Forney, Kemp, Mabank and Crandall, working alongside Workforce Solutions of North Central Texas, have put together an amazing opportunity for employers in Kaufman County to be matched with individuals looking for that perfect job close to home.

Warm, breezy weather provided the perfect backdrop as thousands of locals and visitors from across the area made their way to Ben Gill Park for the 41st annual Terrell Jubilee April 21-24. The first two days of the event helped set the stage for an exciting weekend full of activities with Talley Amusements once again overseeing the midway and carnival.

Terrell Taco Festival coming to downtown

The City of Terrell and the Terrell Chamber of Commerce/CVB are sponsoring the Terrell Taco Festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 7. The event will be held on Nash and Adelaide Streets near Terrell City Hall.

Early voting to wrap May 3

Local voters are officially on the clock this week with early voting in the May 7 election cycle set to wrap on Tuesday, May 3. Key issues with local impact that will be decided include Terrell ISD’s $95 million bond initiative and the City of Terrell’s race for mayor.

Terrell runner completes marathons in all 50 states

As Robin Dunlap chased a years-long dream of qualifying for the Boston Marathon, she managed to accomplish another feat – one that would take her to every corner of the United States. After completing a marathon in Hawaii in January, Dunlap became a newly minted member of The 50 States Marathon Club.

The diamond anniversary celebration has arrived for Trinity Valley Community College. On Saturday, April 23, there will be carnival-style games, music, balloons, giveaways and food. The entire event is free and open to the public.

TVCC Phi Theta Kappa wins top honors

The Trinity Valley Community College Phi Theta Kappa organization received some big honors last weekend. TVCC PTK students Kaylee Passons and Kaylin Melton were part of a team that won first place in the annual PTK Scholar Bowl at the PTK International Convention Catalyst 2022 in Denver, Colorado.
