With the frigid weather a couple of weeks ago, it’s hard to believe spring turkey season is only a month away. We were all dressed like Eskimos but true to the nature of Texas weather, we were in shirt sleeves a few days ago.

Terrell FFA honors graduating seniors

Terrell Future Farmers of America honored their graduating seniors at their county show over the past weekend. The team held a memorable farewell ceremony where seniors did their last walk around the arena, signifying the end of their show year. Graduating seniors include Cheyanne Chanthaseng, Hannah Daws, Penelope Malone, Kendall Lopez, Anahi Duran and Casey Stewart.

Terrell EDC receives Economic Excellence Recognition

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) announced the recipients of its annual Economic Excellence Recognition program for 2024, including the Terrell Economic Development Corporation. The awards were presented on Friday, Feb. 28, during the TEDC’s 2025 Winter Conference in Austin.

During a program on food rationing, Kristy Dooley, owner of the Whisked Away Bake House in downtown Terrell, will demonstrate the famous Woolton Pie, a popular substitute for Britain’s favorite meat pie, at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 27 at the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd.

Due to overwhelming interest, the Terrell Heritage Museum is pleased to announce that the art exhibit Brushstrokes of Time: Kaufman County’s Artistic Legacies has been extended for two additional weeks, now running through March 15.
