The Texas State Comptroller’s Office delivered a dose of positive news to the city of Terrell in June, announcing recently that sales tax revenue collections had climbed dramatically when comparing June 2021 totals against the same calendar month from the previous year.

City Hall recognized a 12-year-old girl and the four men of City of Terrell Engine 611 for their actions the morning of May 18. Fire Chief Shane LeCroy cited the five for demonstrating calm and competence in the face of a life-or-death situation.

The Terrell ISD is receiving $9.49 million in federal ESSER III funds as it maps out plans to address “significant student learning loss,” Supt. Georgeanne Warnock reported to the school board Monday.

With enrollment expected to spike by as many as 1,500 students in the next 10 years, the Terrell ISD school board on Monday agreed to have an extensive facilities assessment and master plan performed for the school district.
