The Terrell Tiger and Lady Tiger soccer program got their first taste of district play on Tuesday, taking on Kemp Yellowjackets and Lady Jackets respectively. Both Terrell teams entered play red-hot, with Coach Joe Stephens noting, “We have used quite a few different lineups due to injuries and other factors this season.

The Terrell Lady Tigers started last week with a much-needed break, getting the chance to rest and regroup following consecutive setbacks against state-ranked Sunnyvale and current district runner-up Caddo Mills.

The Terrell Tigers opened the second round of district play against a familiar foe Jan. 25, clashing with a Kaufman squad that entered play riding a six-game winning streak.

With the District 13-4A volleyball season now in the rearview, coaches have released their list of Superlative and All-District honorees for the 2021 season. Despite competing in a district that included perennial powers Farmersville and Caddo Mills, as well as Sunnyvale, Kaufman, Quinlan Ford and Nevada Community, Terrell was well represented with multiple players receiving recognition for their performance both on the court and in the classroom.

The Terrell Tigers continued their march towards postseason play last week, hitting the court twice for district contests against Caddo Mills and Sunnyvale. Terrell would win each matchup, running their season-long winning streak to five during the most crucial stretch of the season.

The Terrell Lady Tigers had their hands full this week, hitting the court in Sunnyvale Jan. 18 to clash with the state-ranked Sunnyvale Lady Raiders.

The Terrell Tigers have been a team on a mission in recent weeks, playing some of their best basketball of the season since District 13-4A play began back on Dec. 21.
