Firefighters raising funds for Komen Foundation

The Terrell Professional Firefighter Association has announced that it will be selling specially designed t-shirts recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

TEA releases STAAR results to districts

The Texas Education Agency released its accountability ratings for school districts across the state recently, indicating that Terrell ISD students had seen vast improvements in reading, third and fourth grade math and high school biology during the most recently completed school year. The state’s accountability system rates school districts on student achievement, school progress/growth and closing gaps in student performance. Overall, Terrell ISD received a B rating with a score of 84. Furthermore, the district earned a score of 91 in relative performance.

Chamber set to host annual Civic Auction

Officials with the Terrell Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau have been hard at work for close to a year, putting the finishing touches on the group’s 41st annual Civic Auction event set for Oct. 15 at 800 Airport Road.

Terrell City Manager Mike Sims received lofty praise from the American Planning Association – Texas Chapter recently, earning the prestigious Planning Advocate Award for 2022 for his efforts to advance and promote the cause of planning in the public arena. In announcing the news, APATX officials stated, “We are proud to announce the state’s best planning projects, advocates, and communities for 2022.
City of Terrell elected officials and staff visited the Seguin Public Library Oct. 5 to meet with Maureen Arndt of 720 Designs and review potential options of a new Hulsey Public Library.
