Fall Cattleman’s Conference set for Sept. 16

The newest graduates of Terrell Citizen’s Police Academy participated in graduation ceremonies Aug. 18. Presenters and attendees at the event included Terrell Chief of Police Ken McKeown, Captain Micheal Bulin, Mayor Rick Carmona and other alumni. In addition to a dinner, graduates were also presented special certificates to mark the occasion. The next Terrell Citizen’s Police Academy is scheduled to begin courses Sept. 29.

Elmo WSC receives community assistance grant

The Sabine River Authority of Texas (SRA) was pleased to award the Elmo WSC a Community Assistance Program Grant on Aug. 16 as part of SRA’s Fiscal Year 2022 Economic Development Initiative. The $20,000 check will be used to relocate water lines.

City launches water meter replacement program

ALISON WALKER Public Information Officer – City of Terrell The City of Terrell is proud to launch Terrell H2O, a water meter replacement program that will offer utility customers proactive service alerts and tools for cost control and convenience. The two-phase meter replacement program for all residences and businesses has begun and will continue through the spring of 2023.

Residents urged to report storm damage

STAFF REPORTS The Office of Emergency Management urges residents who suffered property damage because of flooding are strongly urged to report damages, along with images and video, to the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s (TDEM) website. “This is a very urgent matter,” said Steve Howie, Kaufman County Emergen- cy Management Coordinator.
